Ingredients:

  • 500g Bayside Butchery ground beef

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

  • 4 burger buns

  • 4 slices Swiss or American cheese

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced & caramelised

  • 4 tbsp burger sauce or mayonnaise

Method:

  1. Divide the ground beef into 8 small balls.

  2. Heat a cast-iron skillet until smoking hot. Place each ball on the skillet and smash flat with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy, then flip. Immediately add cheese to 4 patties and cook for another 2 minutes.

  4. Stack a plain patty on top of each cheese-covered one for double the goodness.

  5. Toast the buns, slather with burger sauce, and layer with caramelised onions before adding your stacked patties.

  6. Serve hot with fries, pickles, or your favourite sides—and enjoy the crunch!
